Fahima Abdulrazzaq Al Bastaki is the Chief Business & Market Development officer, ADX and a Board Member at Dubai Women’s Establishment.
Fahima carries more than 24 years of experience within banking, the financial sector, and capital markets. She has been appointed as a Chief Business & Market Development Officer at Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) in 2021 as part of the new leadership team to drive Exchange growth strategy and ADQ’s vision as a holding company.
At her current role, Fahima had the privilege to be part of the UAE’s SPAC Regulation Framework Project. She has also led the IPO and listing of freezone companies, as well as the concurrent IPO and listing between ADX and Saudi TADAWUL. All three projects have been marked as first of its kind in the region. In her role she also oversees the digital transformation, financial product development and Research and Data management.
Prior to this, Fahima was the Executive Vice President of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) where she spent 17 years in multiple leading positions covering Listing, Disclosures, Corporate Communication, Public Relations, and Business Development including NASDAQ Dubai. She has played a key role in the development of UAE’s capital Markets regulations by leading the SCA freezone regulation project and the UAE company law changes.
While being responsible for building the IPO pipeline building since 2009 in capital markets, to date she has gained over 300 long-lasting relationships with entities many of which gone through business transformations such as private placements, M&A or going public and listing. All with different business models as they represented multiple sectors such as industrial, health, education, tourism, trading, logistics and lately Energy and Technology. Fahima has spearheaded over 90% of DFM’s IPO and Listings with a total of AED 65+ billion primary and secondary issuances. And since Joining ADX, she has been overseeing the stream of activity in new IPOs, Single Stock Futures listings (derivative market) as well as ETFs and Indices.
Fahima has led the Annual Exchange International Investor Roadshows as early as 2007 in the region and has access to Global Banks and International Institutional Investors who collectively manage an aggregate of over $4 trillion in Assets Under Management (AUM).
Fahima has observed market volatility and was active in 5 major strategic plans from selecting the international consultancy firms to reshape the market strategies as part of the scope.
She is a Certified Investor Relations Officer and was appointed as a Chairperson of the Middle East Investor Relations Association Dubai Chapter. She is an Accredited Director and a graduate of the Women on Board Program. She is a board member for Dubai Women Establishment by Ruler’s decree since 2018. She was a committee member of the Officials & Directors of GCC Stock Markets and Authorities under the GCC Secretariat General and served as a member of the Regulatory Enhancement Committee in the UAE’s Ministry of Economy.
Prior to UAE capital markets, Fahima spent six and a half years in HSBC. She is a certified Financial Advisor (CIFA) from the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK, a CFA Claritas certification holder for capital market, and a bachelor’s degree holder in Applied Science of Business Administration. Fahima had the privilege of being a Senior Quality Assessor in Dubai Quality Award and an active promoter for UAE businesses and the economy.
