Irena Spazzapan is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner, Chair of the Executive Committee and Member of the Investment Committee at Systemiq Capital, London.

Irena is a venture capitalist and system thinker with 18 years of investing and operational experience, demonstrating a strong track record to identify high potential investment opportunities, innovate business models with transformational change and engage people to deliver exceptional commercial results in the energy and climate tech sectors.

A highly commercial, dynamic and analytically-driven leader who is passionate about climate tech innovation to accelerate the transition to net zero. Deep knowledge and networks in energy and carbon markets, technological innovation and what it takes to build ecosystems for accelerating climate mitigation and adaptation.

Prior to co-founding Systemiq Capital, she has been Partner at Systemiq and Executive Director in Gas & Power Origination at Goldman Sachs International. She decided to leave Goldman Sachs to focus 100% on climate tech and the energy transition in an expanded role at Systemiq.

Irena is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Her education involves – Laurea in International Relations, specialising in Economics, at the University of Trieste, Italy with a focus on Macroeconomics, International Relations, History, and International Law.
