Augusto Cardenas is the Senior Manager of International Operations at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).

Augusto and his team focus on developing ADIO’s outreach activities and presence in international markets, helping to generate investment into the emirate and promoting its status as a global investment destination across various business sectors.

Augusto has more than 15 years of experience across both private and public sectors in the fields of policy making, analysis of free trade agreements, branding strategies and global export counselling.

Starting his career as a researcher and then economic advisor to the Colombian Senate, Augusto turned to the private sector and built his career in quantitative market research, foreign direct investment analysis and global business strategies in Colombia, India and South Korea.

Augusto has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics from Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia. He earned a Global MBA from EAE Business School, subsequently obtaining an MBA from the University of Barcelona, Spain.
