Yagub is an entrepreneur with more than 10 years experience in private equity and investment banking across top-tier global firms including Mubadala Investment Company, Deutsche Bank as well as Emirates NBD Asset Management. In 2018, he also founded a VAT advisory firm, Themaar Group of which he is currently a board member.

Yagub education includes: Bachelor’s degree, Double Major, Banking and Finance, Queensland University of Technology.

Yagub’s experience:

• As founder of YAS Investments, Yagub heads an investment and advisory firm serving regional startups and the family groups in the UAE.
• In 2018, Yagub founded Themaar Consultancy Group, a VAT advisory firm, which he turned profitable in the first year with over 300 clients nationwide.
• Whilst at Mubadala, under the capacity of Vice President, he served as a key member in the strategic investment relationship between the UAE and Russia and later Kazakhstan, helping comanage a USD 6bn fund of which USD 1.2 bn was deployed in Russia .
• Before Mubadala, he joined with the M&A team of Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC), a 100% subsidiary owned by Mubadala, where he helped develop the capabilities for the second largest semiconductor manufacturing company.
• He was also part of the investment team at Emirates NBD Asset management where he raised USD 40mn from investors and financial institutions.
